Job Summary
The Packaging Application Development (PD PAC) team in India is responsible for developing and maintaining state of the art software applications for selection and automation of products .
As a Software Development professional, you are expected to adopt existing methodologies and apply new techniques to fully understand internal client requirements and transform those into software artifacts, to support external clients. You will work in a global team of multidisciplinary subject matter experts highly skilled in engineering and engineering automation software development. The PD PAC India team is a lean and agile team, leveraging SCRUM Methodology and Extreme Programming enabling rapid development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance web applications using C# and .Net Core.
- Write efficient SQL queries to interact with databases like SQL server or MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for web applications to interact with back-end systems.
- Manage the deployment of web applications on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS or GCP.
- Ensure the security of the web applications by implementing authentication and authorization systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot web application issues and optimize for performance.
- Develop unit test cases as per the functional requirements.
- Perform peer code review and identify the gaps in terms of design and implementation.
- Work in a flexible, cross functional, team-based, development environment that is comprised of both local Siemens Engineers and 3rd party consultants/contractors.
- Support business improvement projects following agile principles, e.g. SCRUM.
- Provide ‘User Support’ for applications deployed on production environment.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying software applications.
- 5+ years of experience in programming languages C#.Net & .Net core.
- 3+ years of experience in Angular web application development.
- 3+ years of experience in developing RESTful web API services that can be consumed in Angular application.
- 3+ years of experience in developing distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience in SQL Server database design and development.
- 2+ years of experience in Agile working environment following SCRUM process.
- Experience with project management tool, source/version control such as: Team Foundation Server, JIRA, and GIT.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Working knowledge of rotating equipment products like Centrifugal compressors, Reciprocating Compressors and Gas turbines.
- Excel VBA programming.
- AWS cloud architecture knowledge is a plus.
- Cloud native web application development, DevOps, Micro services, Containerization, Kubernetes.
